CHARITIES

CHARITY DAY

Every month we choose a charity to donate 15% of all books sold on that day. Here’s our latest and some of the fantastic organisations that we’ve donated to.

CHARITY DAY SEPTEMBER 2026

In September, our Monthly Charity Day, (Thursday September 10)— where we donate 15% of the value of each book sold in the shop and online to a charity or organisation that we love to support — will be in support of Save The Children — Nepal Appeal.

Save The Children — Nepal Appeal are providing sustained support for children and families in need. The situation in Nepal is challenging, with severe damage caused by the catastrophic flash flood that swept through Timure, Rasuwagadhi and Syabrubesi in Rasuwa in Northern Nepal. With roads blocked and some areas only accessible by helicopter, bringing essential supplies to families continues to be a priority. Along with the massive displacement, some children have been separated from their parents and are now staying in different holding centres. This exposes them to trauma, injury, exploitation, and other protection risks. With your help, Save The Children plans to expand the scope of the response to match the needs of children and communities, this includes: Nutrition support and sanitation facilities; Cash voucher assistance for pregnant and lactating women’s nutrition needs; Multi-Purpose Cash Assistance for vulnerable households to meet their needs with dignity and flexibility; Construction of accessible, inclusive, temporary and transitional shelters, with gender-responsive WASH facilities; Children’s continued access to learning through student kits and Temporary Learning Centres; Establishing child-friendly and adolescent girl-friendly safe spaces to provide protection, psychosocial support, and opportunities for safe engagement.

Last Charity Day in August, with your support we were able to donate to Dementia Australia who help families affected by Dementia, by keeping the National Dementia Helpline available 24/7, 365 days a year; providing expert guidance and compassionate support when families feel overwhelmed or unsure where to turn; directing dementia research into prevention and improved treatments, bringing hope to future generations. Every step forward brings us closer to a future with better care; and, supporting families to access trusted information and education so Australian families can understand a dementia diagnosis, feel less alone and more supported when fear or uncertainty strikes.

Thank you for your support.
