CHARITY DAY October 2025

In October, our Monthly Charity Day (Saturday October 11)— where we donate 15% of the value of each book sold in the shop and online to a charity or organisation that we love to support — will be in support of The Indigenous Literacy Foundation, on Love Your Bookshop Day.

The Indigenous Literacy Foundation (ILF) is a national charity of the Australian Book Industry, working with remote Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Communities across Australia. ILF is Community-led, responding to requests from remote Communities for culturally relevant books, including early learning board books, resources, and programs to support Communities to create and publish their stories in languages of their choice. The Indigenous Literacy Foundation relies solely on the generosity of donations and pro-bono support from partners to run our programs. This independence from Government funds enables the ILF to work sustainably and long term in the Communities we serve.

Last Charity Day in September with your support we were able to donate to UNICEF’s Children of Gaza Emergency Appeal. UNICEF teams remain on the ground in Gaza providing emergency services across health, nutrition, clean water and child protection. This includes screening and treating children for malnutrition, providing psychosocial support to children and their caregivers, repairing damaged water infrastructure, and getting aid and lifesaving supplies in whenever possible.
